Last June 11th, some members of the Jr. ACF went on a tour of Morgan Creek Vineyards located in Harpersville, Alabama. Morgan Creek Vineyards, founded in 2000, is a beautiful family owned vineyard that produces a variety of different wines they sell locally such as dry, semi sweet, sweet, and fruit wines.
While we were there we saw how the wines were bottled and the different machines they used. They process approximately 1500 bottles an hour amounting to 80,000 bottles a year. After the short tour of the facility by owner Charles Brammer, we looked around their quaint gift shop and tasted a wide variety of wines such as: Noble, a dry red wine, Regal Red, a semi sweet wine, Carlos, a sweet white wine, Sweet Blueberry, a fruit wine, and a few others.
Morgan Creek Vineyards is a serene and comfortable place where you can relax and enjoy the scenic view of the vineyard while enjoying a sip of their finest wines. The vineyard is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm where free tours and wine tastings are held. They also hold many different events like the Grapestomp where they have live music, fireworks, and food. The Jr. ACF would like to thank Mr. Brammer and his staff for their hospitality. We encourage everyone to give them a visit. For more info, visit their website at http://www.morgancreekwinery.com/.
